[RANT ON]

Why do people need to mess with other peoples stuff.

My parents have a fountain in front of their hour (nothing extravagent, something like this). My dad purchased it for my mother on Mothers Day. So I pull into their driveway this morning and wow, I see suds all over my parents lawn and in the fountain. Some punk put dishwashing soap into the fountain and its sudding all over the place. I disconnect it and wash the lawn to remove sud bubbles as big as two basket balls. I go in and show my parents. They are pretty pissed.

I asked them if they heard or saw anything last night. They said the only people the saw list night were the neighbors who live in front of my parents house. They were having a cookout and were getting rather drunk as well. Those neighbors have really never liked my parents for no good reason and are always trying to compete with my parents when it comes to landscaping and stuff like that. My inclination is to think it was them, but I really can not point a finger without evidence.

My parents are really nice people they never bother anyone and just like to keep to themselves. Why some one would do this, I dont know. All I know is I get to waste around 50+ gallons of water to make sure this thing has no residual suds left. bleh...[RANT OFF]

CLIFF NOTES:
Parents Have Fountain
Some Punk Put Dishwashing Soap in it, SUD ARE EVERWHERE, dont know who did it.
Parents Bummed
I plan on cleaning it but must waste good water

UPDATE:
Cleaned it...the fiberglass is discolored. So, now I am trying to figure out a way so taht I can restore its real color. Paint? Some gel? Dunno, off to Lowes in a bit.

That definitely does suck. Sorry to read about that! However, I think it probably has to do with them possibly wanting to put something "good" in this thread. You sound like a good boy to me doing that for your parents.

Dude, it was the swedish bikini team trying to take a bubble bath. They must have stepped out for a sec to use the restroom.

Your loss.

I havn't touched it yet... I may just do that. But, I am curious to know if the motor survived the incident. Plus I do not want the soap to damage the material in the fountain basin.

Call the neighbors and ask if they saw anyone, see if they act suspicious. Then put a flaming bag of poop on their porch and ring the doorbell.

One of my favorite pranks when I was young:

Go to a baitshop and purchase a bag of live maggots. Cut a small hole in the bag and hide the bag somewhere indoors where the victim won't notice it. i.e. under a couch, or high up on top of a shelf or ledge. Wait several days for the live maggots to hatch into flies. Result: flies everywhere!!! Kind of like something out of a horror movie.

Note: I pulled this prank in Elementary School in the school Library many moons ago. It was great.

Strange.

Maybe try something a little stronger, like mineral spirits?

Be sure to test it on a small spot first.
