On the fast lane, cutting 5 lanes of traffic without notice at around 85 just to make an exit.

Crazy, man.

People who tell such stories are as annoying as the tailgaters. WTF, did you gain out of this besides potentially causing an accident? Both of you and the soccer mom are idiots!

1. She finally realized she's not going anywhere and stopped her lame passing attempts
2. I had my space in front of me and no other lame-asses trying to pull the same kind of sh!t because they are in such a hurry.
3. STFU

 to the turn signal problem.

Tailgaiters aren't a problem unless you make it one yourself. Don't look back there... they'll watch you. If you can't stand it, maybe you should move the fvck over. Otherwise, let them sit back there and STFU about it.

Right. Don't look back there. You'll see them in your rear-end perfectly when time comes. If you are lucky enough to stay alive to see it. Good job, rh71. Keep it up.

Especially on roundabouts.
You're not supposed to unless you're making a right turn. Left turn signals do no good unless you can see where the person entered the roundabout, and in some you have no way of telling where they entered from.
Where did I say something about left turn signals?

what about folks who just LEAVE their signals on... and they're wavering around in the lane like they want to change lanes.. but never do... or if you think they aren't since they've had an open lane for about 10 seconds, speed up to pass only to have them cut right in front of you.

I really love the ones who 'think' they are using their turn signals, you know, the ones that turn it on half way into the lane change...

People who don't use their turn signal is a huge pet peeve of mine but what pisses me off even more is people who drive drive slow in the fast lane on a 3-4 lane freeway. This happens to me all the time when I drive down 680 in bay area. There is always some joker driving about 65-70 in the fast lane when everyone else is trying to drive 75 in the fast lane, and traffic in number 2 and 3 lane can easily support someone driving 70.

This really pisses me off, I mean you can drive 70 outside of the fast lane...WTF are you doing in fast lane. I guess what really pisses me off about this is how unsafe the road becomes because everyone tries to pass this jerk in the fast lane. I can't tell you how many times I have been cut off, nearly hit, broadsided when driving in the number two lane because people start to weave in and out of the fast lane and number two lane to pass this slow jerk. And the worst part about is that they don't get out of fast lane even after 10 cars pass them. the road would be much safer if these people would realize that people speed and they shouldn't be the ones enforcing the speed limit.

Oh please. In the majority of tailgaiting cases, the driver who's in the way shouldn't be there in the first place. If you were any kind of courteous/anticipatory driver, you'd be out of their way when you see a car fly up/into the left lane behind you... what did you think their next move was ?

Tailgaiting situations can be avoided before it happens unless it's a 1-lane road. How do you know if the person "tailgaiting" you doesn't have a pregnant lady in their back seat and they're rushing to the hospital ? Why would you care anyway ? Get the fvck out of their way and your day can continue. If you don't want to care and have no way to get out of there, don't look. Why should they hit you ? They'd be 100% at fault. People jamming on the brakes to "teach them a lesson" won't cause an accident either ? Oh please. Wake the fvck up. These people are not out to get you. They'd do it to the guy next to you if they were in your place. Stop playing vigilante and just get the fvck over. You think they care about you 2 seconds after they finally pass ? What's the point ? You're nothing to them.

How do you FORGET to use a turn signal? I'm sorry, but if I can remember to turn the wheel, I can remember to stick my finger out and push the little stick one way or another.

It's not like it's something you would rarely do so you might not remember. I actually have to FORCE myself to not use a turn signal. There is a road near me with a damn-near 90 degree turn and sometimes I accidentally put my turn signal just because it feels so unnatural to turn the wheel so far and slow so much without doing so.

People who don't use their turn signals are my biggest driver pet peeve. It seems to be more and more common lof late. Less than half the drivers use them anymore where I live. VERY annoying. I really hate the ones who ACT like they're a conscientious driver, doing the speed limit and all, pretending they are safe, and then never signal. WTF is up with that? Failure to signal is $150 fine and a 2 points on the license infraction, as bad as speeding 20 over. Get a clue, people.
Following closely is those who drive slow in the fast lane, or use the fast lane for anything other than passing period. :|

Motherfvckers with loud stereos viberating my whole car when they drive by.
No, we are not impressed with your stereo, it only makes people think you are ghetto with no class, and you dont look hard when you shake your head up and down with one hand at 12 o clock.
You don't need to listen to music at a volume that everybodys within 100 ft can hear you, if you do, go check yourself to the doctor.

i have an example for you. im driving home after getting some groceries. around my development the speed limit is 30, so im driving around 30-35 mph. i gradually slow down and make a right hand turn onto my street. this jeep behind me honks at me and then as it passes, it brakes at odd intervals. now, i stop completely in the middle of my turn, b/c i dont understand why ive been honked at and esp b/c i dont understand why the jeep down the road has stopped twice (erratically). i think that perhaps this is a friend of mine, even though i dont recognize the car. therefore, i immediately pull a u turn and head out after the car. he makes the next right and i follow. shortly after, he pulls to the right side and pull up next to him. at this point i realize that i have no clue who this guy is - some middle aged white guy. he then asks me if my turn signal works, and i dont understand why he asks, so i just respond with a "yes?". he then drives away...

now, after all this, i know i should have had my signal on, but sometimes ppl forget! i was not driving erratically at all. this guy just decides to be an as$hat. his erratic braking down the road was more troubling than my turn without using a signal.

your slowdown probably caught him off guard. he probably had to do a hard brake to prevent himself from hitting you.

Other than that, there are the people who decide to make a left-turn from the right lane when I'm driving in the left lane and the people who get up to the light in one of the through lanes, realize they want to turn left, and then stop and wait for the next light cycle when they can get into the line of cars in the left turn lane.

i hate that as well. a truck once made a U Turn from the right lane when the left turn light was red! i drove behind it for a "how am i driving" number, but there was none.

One thing that realy pisses me off is when a driver is going very slow (I'm talking 15-20 mph under the limit) for no good reason. If I find myself either next to or behind one, I'll pass them. Almost like clockwork they speed up to not allow me to pass. WTF!!?? I don't get this. They always slow back down again once I do manage to pass them. If this person does not intend to drive at a certain speed, why not let those who want to drive faster pass them? I never tailgate, and I pass in a very reasonable, casual way (not angry or agressive)

can't stand it when people stop at uncontrolled intersections.... turn signal is bad though. so is parking in the middle of the street when you pick your kid up from soccer practice.

We DEMAND stricter control on who gets a license and much harsher penalties for people who do dumb stuff like DUI, extreme speeding in residential zones, weaving in and out of traffic without signalling, etc.

That is all. I will vote for whoever promises me these things ;)

the turn signal thing annoys me just because it takes so little effort to flick it on/off, and when I'm in a car with crappy brakes, it's nice to be able to slow down gradually ahead of time, instead of jamming on the brakes when you slow to a crawl for (as far as I can tell, until you begin the turn) no reason.

my big pet peeve is tinted rear windows, especially in SUV's. like, it's hard enough to see the road ahead when you're stuck behind some 10' fall SUV; tinted windows make it pretty much impossible to do so. as a result, my only way of judging the road ahead is by braking whenever the car ahead of my brakes, and hoping that they don't have to slam on the brakes because some kid just jumped into the road.
