Why do you think they think their time is more important than yours? They want you to stop wasting YOUR time as well as theirs.

It's not a waste of my time. Besides, I don't even know how to write out a check, I haven't done that in years. :p

Use of checks means less chance of credit card fraud right?

I'd rather have someone steal my CC # than my routing and account number.

My bank issued me a debit card with a number that INCLUDES my bank account number. Anybody with a debit card from my bank has their bank account number on the card. Then you just look up the bank's routing number and bam. you're f'd.

I also hate the wannabe ballers that come in with their life savings in their pockets.

Takes them 5 mins to flip through and restack their money to find the $1 bills to pay for their Mellow Yellow usually while speaking to at least 3 different people on their cellphone loudly about 'the deal', 'the hoes', 'the business' or 'the afterparty'

The worst would be the people that spend (literally) 3 minutes arguing about some coupon that will save them $0.50, then proceed to write out a check afterwards. I always seem to get stuck behind these people when I'm only buying a handful of items. I've been seriously tempted to fork over $1.00 and be like "here, you just saved even more money, now stop being ridiculous and let us move on with our lives".

You would be surprised... I work many hours to barely make ~$90k/year... my friend does talk about hoes and has wads of cash... hes a club promoter, spends half the year traveling for pleasure and averages $15-$20k/month while sipping on his version of a "mellow yellow" while sitting with some hoes at the after party conducting business.

But im supposing the majority of people u see in that situation work at a fast food restaurant and cash their checks at 7-11.

BTW. I only use my checks to look at my routing info in the weird occurance I dont remember or really want to double "check"... pun intended

Quit whining. It takes time to use a credit/debit card too.

I swipe, sign and walk, while you are filling out the business name, amount written out and in numbers and then signing and then ripping it from your book and them asking for ID etc

Around here you just sign the check. The register fills it out for you. They give you back the canceled check, and you're gone. Just as quick as a debit or credit card.

Same here though I still have to mail in my rent so I have to write a check for that.

yeah damn those people. makeing you wait a extra 10 seconds to write out the check! actually not even that anymore. since most places run the check like a CC now.

I don't care what people use. a extra 1-2 minutes standing inline waiting for the few people in front of me to pay is nothing.

The only place I seen often people using checks is at Costco due to the fact they only accept cash and Amex...

So you're forced to wait an extra 30 seconds every other time you go to a convenience store? Can't say I'm really empathizing with you over this. Weak rant.

I give it a 0/10.

I usually have mine filled out in advance. In fact it takes me less time to write in the amount than it does for someone to swipe their card eight times and push buttons for a good 30 seconds.

Maybe I'll start a rant thread about people with CC/Debit cards who waste MY time.

bs, checkwriters are the worst, you should just stay home grandpa and let your kids do the shopping

convenience stores there accept cheques? LOL

Yeah for some reason....

I used the search to see if this was a repost but ended with eleventy billion results with the word "check" in it

There you go. Knock yourself out.

Oooooohhh... I made a lasting impression on ATOT with that thread =P

CC/Debit cards may take time, but it takes just about as much time to fiddle with coins and count your cash especially when you're at a place like Costco and your purchases will require a handful of twenties.
