Does anyone also hate penne pasta? This has got to be the worst pasta type out there....

the tube shape has a bad texture and doesn't allow enough enough sauce to be pickup with.. also, its hard to get enough penne on your fork
 
Dude, Penne is the second best pasta type out there! Especially if you like firm pasta. As for not getting enough sauce with it, I've never had any problems.
 
if you hate it so much, you probably are using in the wrong recipe. I think the penne shape goes well with thicker sauces. For thinner sauces, use something with a larger surface area, like a spiral or rottelle. If you're trying to make chicken penne soup, you're just an idiot (or a bachelor).
 
yep thicker sauces. Is really good w/ a nice white sauce.

I love baked ziti.

My favorite is bow tie w/ meat sauce. Quick easy, YUMMY
 
Penne is awesome with the thicker sauces, plus the ridges really add texture and hold on to the sauce really well. As for angel hair - the best pasta bar none, the texture and the way the flavor develops when you chew it is incredible apart from the way it really lets the sauce stick to it. Also try Rao's pasta sauce.
 
oh my gosh. There is a place in Seattle called "The Palimino" that severs the best Penne gorgonzola. It is so good.... yummy... Besides I sat 3 tables away from Bill Gates and his squeeze so it has to be a good place to eat.

ALso, the reason your sauce isn't sticking on the penis...umm...I mean penne is that it "performs" better in cream-based fettucine sauces....


Angel Hair of course holds on to the sauce because of the strength it has in numbers

Of cousre...Italian food..the REALLY good stuff many times use penne-tomato type combination and is STILL the "SHIZNIT"
