There isn't much talent in the movie industry, what did you expect?

I'm not sure this is directed towards me or just everyone in general. I disagree. I think there is plenty of talent in Hollywood. Not to mention other resourses. However I DON'T expect them to change anything given the fact that moviegoers are patronizing them (giving the studios creative control over most of the projects).
I'm sure they feel like, "Hey if it ain't broke." Well we need to send the message that we're not gonna watch this crap. All the we need to protect our 'intellectual' property rights campaigns and the current slump are not connected by chance. They don't want to put their best efforts into something until they can feel somewhat safe that the movies won't get pirated. Which I believe is a bunch of crap anyway. Face!

It's already been said, but it's the safe play. TV and music industries are exactly the same, maybe worse. I can't imagine why, but these movies turn a profit. Until they become a losing proposition or the studios luck onto something else more profitable that they can proceed to run into the ground, we'll see more of the same.

I guess the DVD revenue stream plays a big part of it now and cements a lot of these turds as money makers. Good luck convincing your friends and neighbors to stop renting and buying these pathetic movies that you know will suck within the first 10 sec of seeing the trailer.

Exactly!

Edit: Oh yeah, not that I've heard anything about it yet, but it can only be a matter of time before they try a sh!tty remake of Bullitt now that the new 'Stang is out.
