wow, $10 and $15 for 1 movie ticket? thats fvcking insane. i wonder what it is around here now. haven't been to a theater since the 1st LOTR movie came out.

Yeah and then they have the gall to wonder why movie attendence is in such heavy decline.

AND, they're sticking more advertisements before the trailers, at some theaters....

agreed. i really dislike when you are asked "would you like to give a dollar to the crippled children's fund?" at a cash register and you say "no" and its like you hate crippled children...

Its not the fact that I don't care about other people, I just will NOT give money to any charity I know nothing about.

Walmart does this.. I always say now "I already did, thanks", with a big smile. They seem to like that and smile back and say "oh good, thank you"

Edit: OP.. $10 is a steal anymore for a peak hour movie. The AMC by my house charges $15 for a non-matinee.

15$?!?!?!?! For 15 bucks I better get my feet rubbed, and my car washed while I watch the movie! Especially when you pay another 10 bucks for popcorn and a soda.

Our local theatre.. charges $6.50 for matinee.. and THAT's a steal. The AMC I was referring to also charges $10 or 12 for a matinee! I can't remember which one it was.. but we left when we saw the pricing.

From what I understand the price increase is coming from Hollywood... they charge so much to show their movies now that it's getting harder and harder to stay afloat...

I was told this by a friend who manages a movie theatre BTW

Our local AMC has $4 tuesdays 😀

our Regal, though, charges $9.50 or more.

The local theaters here are ~$4.50 for a matinee / ~7.50 evening shows ( Movie Tavern / Rave ) - DFW area.
