this is for the area in Brooklyn, NY.

they are retards. the address on my driver license is in brooklyn, but I am living in Amherst, NY. the price should be about $725 for a 6-month policy. they wouldn't change it because they ONLY want a utility bill to prove that I actually live here. This place I live in has ALL the utilities included, so I can't provide them with one. they wouldn't take the lease that I got from the leasing office.

after all the phone calls....fvck them. :|:|:|

I am going to change the address on my driver license on monday.

no, I don't have a car before and I never have to drive. I am getting a car on monday, so I need to fix them up. my mom doesn't know how to drive. you just don't need a car in NYC.

my best friend's fiance just moved here from NYC to be here [with him] and i was shocked to find out somebody who's 27 years old couldn't drive !?!? She's still scared to learn...really has no desire, but her fiance is pushing hard for her to learn.

I have never been impressed with GEICO. Check out Progressive or Liberty Mutual. They have the combination of best rates and service IMO.

Geico has been great for me for the last year and a half.
I switched from Allstate to Geico in the Early spring of 2003. I saved $200 every 6 months got better coverage and lowwer deductables. (went from paying $1200 every 6 months, to $1000 every 6 months) In July of 04, my Car was the victim of a majorly huge hailstorm (The hail was about the size of a baseball, trees were downed, roofs were severely damaged, It looked as if a tornado had run through my area. I paid my $500 deductable, the insurance paid for a rental car for the month when it was in the shop, as well as $6800 of the damages. Since then, my rate has dropped another $200 every 6 months. (Probably because I have a speeding ticket on my record from out of state ... And it's purged or no longer directly affecting my record (it's been 3 or 4 years since then))

Geico blows. I never got any tickets and they quoted me $500 more than Progressive. My money goes to Progressive ($400 for 6 months).

We've been with Geico for quite a few years.
They had the best rates for us. Better than Progressive.
And Geico's roadside assistance has been great. Much much better than AAA's towing coverage.
We've used it 3 or 4 times. Once, we had to be towed about 50 miles and it still cost us nothing.

To be fair though, other than towing, I've never had a claim with Geico, so I can't comment on their service in that department.

You must have a hell of a record. I'm from Brooklyn and 18 years old, I used to pay $1700 every 6 months w/ geico (full coverage). I found a better company and now pay less than $1000 for full coverage.
