i'm asian, my parents are different, but it was the same way for a lot of my asian friends. *shrugs* they don't want you getting some chick pregnant and throwing away your life i guess. That and they don't want shame brought upon their family, family's need to save face ya'know.

Interesting, As far as I know (yes Im a dumb teenager too), it is good to make sure that this is love and not horomones. Make sure that you have at least dated or been out with one other girl. In my religion (oh noes) they advise the youth (under 18) to avoid serious relations, and for good reasions. I cant tell you to break up, And I know you probibly wont, but just be sure of what your getting into does not go too far. parents can suck but remember who is providing for you and probibly will help provide for a while after you get out of highschool. They generally want to help you through life.

Indian people and asian people are successful mostly because their parents teach them to work hard. You dont need statistics to see that. Most other minorities and many white people dont do as well because their parents just dont give a f.

Maybe but its the truth. I have lots of asian friends and know a few indian people and met some of their parents. They make damn sure their kids work hard and get somewhere in life.

if it were the truth, the only successful people you'd see are Indians and Asians.

Assumptions based on experience. My high school was very diverse and i got to know a lot of different people. Im not talking out of my ass here. More than 90% of asian, muslim, indian kids i met were really smart and always studied/did their homework (this is especially true for 1st gen immigrants). About 60% of black/hispanic kids studied and did their homework and about 75% of white kids studied and did their homework.

Why else would the affirmative action bs exclude asians?

Call me a racist or whaterver I really dont care. Its just an issue of different cultural values. Some cultures value hard work and education others dont. Just that simple.
