Root your phone and run AdAway. I played Trivia Crack and never saw any ads or had any of those in browser re-routes like what you're talking about. Got a new S5 and haven't rooted it yet, and ads up the wazoo and probably 1/3 the time I open Chrome, I get re-routed to the play store to install that Kate Upton war game. Need to get this thing rooted ASAP.

It has happened to me on anandtech twice in the last week. Next time it happens I can tell you what app the ad has redirected me to but it's not clear what the source of the popup is. It occurs seemingly randomly while loading any part of the forum.

Well, the forums are set up to redirect you for the Tapatalk app if you aren't careful. :)

Those Kate Upton commercials irritate me to no end.

For some reason, app TV ads appeal to the lowest common denominator. Old people must be really susceptible to them because 60% of the ads on FNC are for mobile apps. The rest of the ads are for retirement planning, medical supplies, and prescription drugs.

The "Saga" app commercials are really driving me insane. The commercials never say "this is a fun/addicting game." They just show some stuff happening and then tell you the name of the game. Fucking stupid.

Example:

A young ice skater sees a gummi bear beneath the ice of the skating rink. She points a magic ring at the bear and melts the ice. The bear floats up like a balloon and they hug. "Naa na naa na naa" music starts and it announces the name of the game.
Message: This game is good because ice skaters can free gummi bears from ice and you definitely want to do that.

A woman in a park sees a ghost surrounded by a bunch of helium balloons. She uses a magic ring to pop all the balloons, freeing (?!) the ghost. The ghost floats over to her and they try to hug, but the ghost passes through her. "Naa na naa na naa" music starts and it announces the name of the game.
Message: This game is good because someone in a park popped a bunch of balloons with a magic ring.

A guy in a supermarket sees raccoons walking around near some fresh produce. He points his magic ring finger at a raccoon and a vine comes out. The vine touches the raccoon on the nose and the raccoon doesn't really react at all. The produce starts making joyous sounds. "Naa na naa na naa" music starts and it announces the name of the game.
Message: Vegetables are happy when you touch a raccoon on the snout.

A hipster girl in a museum or something wanders away from the group and finds a room with animals standing on columns of blocks. She uses a magic ring to destroy blocks and gives a high-five to one of the animals. "Naa na naa na naa" music starts and it announces the name of the game.
Message: Animals are happy when you blow up the things they are standing on.

"I Want Candy" plays throughout the commercial (strange, considering this game is about soda, not candy). Someone puts on a magic ring and starts shooting at vending machines full of colored sodas. Someone puts on a magic ring and starts shooting the soda machines. Colored soda drenches the city.
Message: Vandalism is fun!
