i just saw a thing on tv about men's supposed mid life crisis syndrome where old guys date young girls and buy sports cars and stuff like that.
it got me thinking about the sports cars bit.

whenever a guy over 30-40 buys a nice car that any other guy would kill to have the guy instantly gets flamed for buying a "penis extension" and having a mid life crisis.

when women say that it just ticks me off. ive never heard a guy say that about another guy so its jsut women.

don't women realize that men like cars and appreaciate them and buy them not as extensions.

don't women realize that they wear make-up and perfume and shape altering clothes for 90% of their lives. some of them even get plastic surgery and result to even more extremes to look better but if a guy buys a vette when hes 40 he is having a crisis.

it just pisses me off so much. he probably wanted that car his whole life and can finally afford it but gets labeled when he buys it.

If I ever have enough money to buy a Carrera 4, you can say whatever you want about the size of my penis. I won't care.

I don't consider buying a new car a mid life crisis.
Leaving your family and getting a new girl friend would qualify, though. :|

Being 46, maybe I'm biased, but I've always wanted to get a car that maybe I can just now afford.

That makes it a crisis?

Whatever.

yes...a crisis..in that younger men cant afford them and hate you for it.
i dont think its just women (nor do i think its even a majority of women that think this way...cars may be a red flag to many women for a personal reason. and for that i cant fault someone)

but this brings up an interesting trend ive noticed: younger people having been buying nicer cars (or their parents have been for them) and it really bothers me. i like the idea of seeing an older guy behind the wheel rather than some young kid tooling around in a car worth more than he could have made in his time on the planet...

That'll be about the time she decides you don't have the same "spring in your step as the younger models"......
You've reached sexual peak already, she will just be getting there. That and the fact that " you've never listened to her" and you'll be looking at Hot Cars a little differently.

Ever notice most of the guys driving newer Vettes, 911s, etc.?

They look like cheesy ambulance chasers...

Times are vastly different. It's not that uncommon to see a successful early-mid 20s individual with an appreciation for nice cars.
