My MX700 mouse died but fortunately it's covered under warranty still. The problem is that I have the MX duo, so according to customer service, they have to replace the entire set with the inferior LX700 set, which comes with a much worse mouse. If I want the MX1000 mouse, I have to pay $50 to upgrade to the MX3100 Mouse/Keyboard set. They won't replace just the mouse. Such a PITA. Sorry, rant over.

I learned a long time ago not to buy Logitech. Microsoft has a great warranty policy on their mice though. Go MS :)

Well, in fairness to Logitech, they're willing to replace my whole set it's just that the MX duo is discontinued. I just wish I could replace the mouse only.

Logitech still rocks. Just bad luck for you. I never buy those combos and I  my MX500 at work and my MX510 at home. Now they have come out with the MX518 with on the fly sensitivity adjustment on the mouse. Looks like I will be upgrading soon :)

I wonder if I'd have any luck just accepting their offer of the LX700 then selling it and using the proceeds to buy an MX1000.

I had the same thing happen.

I bought a new mx1000 and put the reciever to the lx700 base, and put the reciever to the lx700 in the mx1000 base. The mx1000 works fine with the lx7000 base. I just gave my parents the old keyboard and mouse. I don't know if I could have combined the lx700 mouse with the old keyboard on the same reciever, I didn't try it.

If you do decide to do what I did, just make sure you keep the charging part of the mx1000 mouse with the mx1000 mouse...

I must of been one of the lucky ones to get their last batch. They just replaced my MX700 Duo 2 weeks ago.

why do you say the mouse with the lx700 set is inferior?

The mouse doesn't have the same amount of buttons. And the mouse looks stupid.

Horizontal Tilt never gets used, unless you are at lower resolutions.
