**RANT** how long does it take to install "Ur" HL2??

finally got HL2 today.... installing for approx. 5 hrs 10 mins. now still 2/3 decrypting.....OMG!! :Q:frown:

Um...is your computer like really slow? Cause installing is pretty quick, for a 5 cd-game and unlocking shouldn't take that long since it has been out for a while already.

started at midnight the day it released, took nearly 6 hours but thats when the steam servers were being hammered.

The illegal copy I used took about 10 minutes tops to install on my brothers comp.

It's a dell p4 1.6ghz with 512 ram. And I bought the retail one eventually so I could play source.

took me ~20 mins to install the 5 cds, 2 hours on 56k to decrypt, ~2 hours to patch

well i got it the day it came out and ran into the mess that was steam's servers that day, and it still didn't take me 5hours
