I had all my ducks in order and my new house was scheduled to close today. EVERYTHING was in place. I have deliveries scheduled for tomorrow, everything is packed up and I'm ready to move. Now I call the builder to see how I get my keys, and behold: the city had not filed my deed. They are making some "changes" to some documents and thusly cannot file the deed until they make these changes. They're "shooting for Friday".
They knew I'd be closing today for six months (SIX, that's HALF A YEAR). Do they have a calendar over there?
I spoke to a "director" over at City Hall and they're talking to an attorney to see if I can get an "interim solution" like maybe sign whatever documents they have now and sign revisions later.
Until then... I'm gonna have to find a place to stay.
