Today at Purdue there is some spring festival going on and there is a bunch of hs/middle school kids here. On my way into the building I work in I have fight my way through the crowd of screaming/talking (almost dog like whining) of the girls, while the guys stand off in a corner secluding themselves.

All I heard while walking to the comp lab I work in was talks about NSYNC and various teeniebopper crap.

I can remember going to things like that in highschool, and thinking to myself how the college guys who normally go here must get really pissed off about all these kidos invading their campus.

thats funny about all the guys standing in a corner secluding themselves. That is the one thing about the high school i go to, and am about to graduate from. all the girls and the guys mix. I love it, we all go out and do stuff together on the weekends, just as friends, in a group.

It seems to me that teen girls giggle a whole lot more than they did when I was that age. What's so funny? Or maybe it isn't really giggling. Maybe they all have the hiccups.

Hahaha my son's a big wheel, he graduates from middle school next month and I run a comp club at the school, when the bell rings they flood the halls ,it's like a stampede of hormones in sneakers !!!!

At any rate, they can be annoying but those early teen yrs have got to be the most horrible time in a person's existance,I find the little monsters rather charming I must be crazy or something :D

You're generalizing. A majority of teenagers are like that, too many. Me and many of my friends are not. I do agree that those people are annoying. Try going to school with them every day.

So is it fair to assume that you're just a few years removed from this immature age yourself?

Remember that we old folk view some college students antics with the same disbelief. Cut the kiddies a break! ;)

I enjoy watching them around town. Some day, they'll be doctors and lawyers and such. :)

Lately I've been disliking the sub-16yr/old people more and more. It's generalizing, but my perception is based on personal experience and encounters. I have a 14 (turning 15 in May) year old sister and she aggravates me to no end. She's very loud, obnoxious, has no manners or respect, etc. The filthy language has gotten to her already. Why is it that people around that age can't learn the "bad words" without abusing them and sounding like a complete moron? All her friends are similar to her too. The whole giggling all the time thing, being obsessed with Ja Rule and pop music (I don't mean to include rock as pop music, you know what i mean when i say pop in this context), being obsessed with "coolness", etc.

Talking to 14-15 year olds and then talking to a 16-17 year old, I notice a huge difference. But above all, just the people in college I find are far more (again, generally) mature. It's such a nicer experience to go to college than high school. People are no longer cruel and judgemental, at least not to the degree of people in elementary and high school. I never had any self esteem, but it's slowly building now that I go to college.

I'd have to agree. I shot an n'sync concert (forced to  ) as in intern for the pittsburgh trib-review last year. Let me tell you though, there's not much that can compare to being surrounded by 45K screaming girls going nuts. They led the press out of the hole in the bottom of the stadium and apparently the crowd thought we were the band at first and started going nuts.

Heh. Kinda reminds me of the mall. You can't walk through without some pre-pubescent girl bawling her eyes out on a cell phone saying, "I saw you holding hands with that girl! I did! I can't take it! We HAVE to break up!" Good Lord.

I will only go to the mall when they are in class. That's the good thing about having open blocks in my class schedule.
