OK HERE IS THE DEAL:
I have a new hard drive from MAXTOR, 15 gig 7200 rpm hdd. Has all my data on it, email addresses, software, downloaded drivers, etc. Running Win 2k on it, so this is no small install. I then purchase a hdd caddy so I can swap hdds without taking the system apart to change operating systems.

2 nights ago, the hdd starts acting funny, wont boot, then does not allow bios to see the slave drive. I think that the hdd caddy is bad, but when I start to put the hdd in a new caddy, I BURN MY FRIKIN HAND on the HDD.

So I allow it cool, and then try a direct connection, Result: 1 baked hdd, lost data and system configuration.

Good news,
MAXTOR is replacing the hdd for no cost to me. But that still does not make up for the lost data, or time I have to spend rebuilding a system.

I talked to Maxtor, they said that it sould not be an issue. But if it is, I may have to look into finding one with fans. Got a link to some?
