**Rant** F the USPS

Well,
the last two items that I've ordered off eBay that have been delivered usps have officially not arrived at my doorstep, despite the USPS' wonderful delivery confirmation which apparently is government speak for "not our responsibility"

Paypal wont help because the tracking number shows the item as delivered so I guess im out another $80...

Im done with USPS shipping, I'm done with Ebay
sorry just had to get this off my chest

I've never had a package not be delivered to me by usps. If it says it's at my door, it's either there or in my mailbox. So two things could have happened: a)shipper put wrong address b)someone stole your mail.

Like was said....signature confirmation is the only way to assure it was delivered to you. On the other hand, I've never have had a problem with USPS Del. Conf. at all...maybe consider moving out of a high crime neighborhood?

You've been home when the packages have supposedly been delivered? Or are they being delivered while you're at work?

Could be a neighbor or someone stealing packages.

My brother was home at the time...funny thing is, he got a few textbooks that WERE delivered but my package was not with them.

I'm guessing that maybe the package was left in the truck or something but there's no way to know since it was marked as delivered. I suppose there's still an outside chance of them finding it but I'm not holding my breath

Uh..I've never had a problem like this. EVER.

I'd report it. Seriously your neighborhood must have something screwed up going on.

🙄

yes, those are the only explanations

A bigger problem I have with USPS is that they are way to fucking lazy. They never check if I am home, and instead just put a slip that says I was gone and make me come pick it up.

Sounds like you are lazy. Pick up your damn package.

QFT...OP do you live in an apartment or bad neighborhood?

I find USPS to be vary slow. I ship stuff to my gf in DC and it takes forever. They keep routing my parcels through Montreal for some reason. Takes at least twice as long to ship something through them as it does through Canada Post.

The only thing good about USPS is the price -- it seems to be considerably cheaper to send packages from them than UPS or FedEx. I don't really think that makes it worth the non-existent tracking system and incredibly slow ship times though... I've had USPS take 2 weeks to deliver a package that was supposed to arrive in <5 days.

I guess sometimes I don't realize how lucky I am. My mail carrier is great, she will always ring the bell and wait at the door a couple of minutes before leaving a notice. I am home for lunch most times when she delivers, she has been known to come back by and deliver a package if I wasn't home the first time, and she saw my truck as she goes back by the house.

Hmm, I have never really had a problem with USPS but that doesn't mean there isn't a problem. I have come to find out that their DC has gotten better the past six months or so though. But as others have said, insurance will keep the fuckers from losing your package.
