Rant: Early 9700 Pro 8X AGP bug

I finally moved over to an Intel D875PBZ with 2GB of PC3200, and a P4C 3.0. I placed my previously happy 9700 Pro into my new box, and was getting random crashes / having my monitor fall into power-save mode. Turns out that early 9700 Pros can't handle running at AGP 8X. Oh well, at least it's completely stable. I'm just annoyed I can't run at 8X, because I do some fairly transform-heavy programming ( million+ vertices ) that might benefit from a faster bus.

Mine has the same problem too since I think it's from the first batch. However at 4x it's rock solid and since I'm not going to have it much longer I can't really be bothered doing anything about it.
