Well... my dad asked me to help him make a list on what to buy from dell... So I do... I make it exactly the way it should be...

So...

my dad does.

For most of it....

So now... if something ever goes wrong... I will have to call up Dell to send me the reinstallation CD of windows media 2005.

After the 13 month of Dell coming to our door to fix the thing which was $150...

If a virus pops up...
I blame the 36 month McAfee subscription for $100.

Oh well... I would've jacked the 2007fpw...
But it became a 2007fp instead (although still bigger... .... but $10 more)... :(...

So yeap... big rant about how my dad spent $400-$500 more than he should've...
While screwing me over when he asks me to fix it after dell's warranty expires... In 3 years.

Oh well... not my money.
But it will be my problem :beer:

So... for this rant... Cliffs.

Dad spends $400-$500 more than he should've
Um... Dell better not screw us over on warranty services?.

Man, your dad must be loaded. First getting scammed by some mexican contractor w/ fake license to lay some concrete you could've done yourself for cheap, now this.

Well now he bought this computer to be a real estate agent after he retires from being an aeronautical engineer.

Yeah, I hate it when people ask for advice and then screw it all up.

A friend of mine had a frozen block of cheese in the freezer. He wanted help thawing it. I told him "thaw it in the microwave or put it under running COLD water." He runs it under hot water, partially melting the outside and not thawing the inside at all. Dumbass

My parents know that I have built computers and done tech support for a living, but rather than take my advice on components for a cheap system from Dell, they pick out some random stuff. They have a 2.8 GHz P4 with a gig of RAM. They don't use it for more than an hour a day, and they only use it to check e-mail and surf the internet. They won't use Firefox or Thunderbird. They have a 120GB hard drive (of which they use 5GB) and an additional 80GB hard drive (which is empty). They splurged and got all of these upgrades on a system that didn't need hardly any processor speed or RAM... for absolutely no reason

Can't think of any other good stories at the moment. Naturally if you give someone relationship advice they will probably not listen to you, so there's no point in telling any of those stories.
