She instantly mentioned how wrong it was to drink water from an unfiltered source, because it contains chemicals and impurities and other crap like that inside.
Some of the bottled waters have been tested and contain *more* impurities than regular tap water. We have filtered water in our office - which isn't maintained on a regular basis. About every 4 months, we need to make a service call to get it serviced. The lines are usually plugged up and need to get purged when they change the filtering system. I'm sure before the maintenance team arrives, people who drink that water are drinking water that is much worse that the tap water since they getting a "concentrated" shot of impurities with their 8 oz. of water.

Oh, and I really, really hate people who tend to give advice out as this co-worker has done. And 'NO' I wouldn't "hit it" because office romances / affairs / etc. tend to catch up with you and make things uncomfortable down the road.

I don't know about you guys, but when I was younger bottled water wasn't nearly as popular as it is now. When I was young, I *gasp* drank all my water from the tap. I'm willing to bet I'll be just as healthy and live just as long as those bottled water bigots. Most everyone here's old enough that they grew up when drinking from the sink was NORMAL.

Sure it's nice to filter water, but for goodness sakes, don't act like you're drinking from the toilet if it's not Evian or crap like that. I use a Brita filter water pitcher, but I'm not above drinking water straight from the sink.

It's all marketing people...it's just friggin water.

It is amazing how many of our fellow citizens have so much time to worry about other people and what they drink and eat. I have my hands full just worrying about myself let alone worrying about what type of water my co-workers are drinking. It seems that minding ones own business is a lost art in America.

I enjoy 2-3 large glasses of tap water every day, fully populated with ice from a machine (that I'm certain uses tap water). Tasty stuff. And I really don't care if it has some nasties in it - that what I have an immune system for. :)

Up in huntsville the water smelled like eggs and sulfur - totally foul. In bham it's damn nice almost like bottled water. I drink it all the time - it's perfectly safe.

Water is water!
You wouldn't say that if you got a whiff of the water here. I dunno if it's the drought or what, but it's rank.

As for the drought, I wish it'd end. It's sad to see all the trees dying. :(

At home I do not drink tap water because in South Tampa you get a lot of rust i n the lines. It doesn't really affect the taste of the water but the color is nasty. At work I drink tap.

I disagree with everyone.....

Saltman has to and should drink nothing but bottled or filtered water.

He is just not allowed to drink water from the tap. I forbid it. :D

Does anyone remember drinking well water.. or is everyone here too young and city folk like?

As for filtering.. you could get one of those pitcher water filters and keep it at your desk?

Yep. When I lived on Hilton Head Island, SC we had some of the foulest well water there. Not unhealthy, just stinky and nasty tasting.

That was the only time I regularly drank bottled water.
