In the past 2 weeks I have come home to MANY recordings on my answering machine asking me to support John Kerry for president. They are really bad quality recordings. I got contacted one time by a Republican committee, but that was just once and I haven't heard from them since. I have had at least 8 friggin (I just realized that this was a rant) calls within the past 2 weeks. That's just insane and stupid. It makes me for sure not even want to consider a Democrat for president!!! Up yours John Kerry supporters who spam the living hell out of people via phone lines!!! And up yours for not providing an opt-out number. I should sue everyone of your asses so then you have no more funds to support your precious candidate. Up yours Kerry supporter group thingamagigs (yeah!). I could give a sh!t about his so-called military experience or why he should be the next president. Up yours for invading my personal space! And up yours for considering that I may not know about the candidate's values!!!

9/10 for the rant. I'll agree with you. The last such call I received was from that wanker, General Wesley Clark. This "wanna-be" politician should just hang it up.

?

That was a terrible rant.

when i interned on a congressional campaign, my evenings were spent personally making those calls.

"hi my name is cindy and i'm calling from the _________ for congress campaign. we wanted to remind you that the election is only _________ weeks/days away and that __________ is running to represent you. please visit our website at _____________ or call our offices at _______________ if you would like to learn more about his platform" etc etc.

most of the time i got answering machines. we only called people registered with the party. if you're registered as "declined to state" you get contacted by everyone. all ths info is available from the registrar.

Man, what a line of crap that is. How did you sleep at night knowing that you were lying to people day in and day out?

I get phone spam from both parties, plus fake polls ("push polls" -- "How do you feel about voting for Bush knowing he's dismembered kittens and puppies with a meat cleaver?").

You might be getting mostly Kerry spam, but every politician is doing it, plus the parties, plus political action committees and special interest groups.

Radio and TV are even worse. Here in WA I'm hearing ads from a doctors PAC saying unless you elect the Republican senate challenger, people WILL DIE SCREAMING!!!! because the Democrat isn't giving them a free pass on malpractice. (I added the "screaming" part, but they really did say people will die unless you pick the Republican.)

I'm in WA, too... and I'm sick of those ads as well. I live not far from a hospital, and they just built on a huge addition. If all the doctors are "fleeing washington" (as the ads say), then why are the hospitals building up?
If a doctor makes so many irresponsible decisions in the operating room that their insurance rates go up and they can't be millionairs, then I don't want them here.
Scaring people into thinking that if they don't vote republican, then all the doctors will leave (..and YOU could die!) -- should be a crime!
I wish someone would air a 1/2 hour infomercial showing that voting republican will allow street-hacks free reign in the O.R. -- mixed with clips from the show "Nip Tuck".
