Rant against Cingular

This is what has happened the last 3 weeks to me:

3/27/05 - Order Mot v551 and 2 yr service agreement
3/28/05 - Email received, problem with order
3/28/05 - Call made, informed CC not accepted(debit card- over daily spending limit). Gave new CC (Bank America). Added 3/29/05 12:00AM to Bank of America by Cingular.
3/29/05 - Call made, informed mistake made, will be fixed, nonspecific, told order will be processed. Payment was known to be made.
3/30/05 - Paid $158.99 to Bank of America online
4/01/05 - Call made, informed rate plan "not available", told order will be processed and to choose a rate plan upon receiving phone. Payment was known to be made. Also, online says I owe $122.33 that Cingular person previously spoken with could not explain but said might be charges for the new rate plan (that I apparently never got because it was "unavailable.")
4/04/05 - Call made, more bullshit, I forget exactly.
4/11/05 - Call made, informed order on hold because credit card problem (came back as denied because of original card used or something like that). Told had no record of payment.Must get verification # from CC Company and confirm with them that Cingular was paid and amount not simply posted on credit card.
4/11/05 - Call made to Bank American, told can't get verification number because transaction has gone through and Cingular was paid.
4/11/05 - Call made to Cingular, told need a verification number or need to fax them proof of payment. It says online on my bill that I paid the $158.99 for the phone with a credit card with its own confirmation number.
4/11/05 - Call made to Bank of America, told cant give verification number, need to fax Cingular proof or have Cingular call Bank of America.
4/11/05 - Call made to Cingular, told should fax them proof, and that Bank of America should get a verification number. Thanks a lot dipshit.
I got the fax info in my last call to Cingular.
4/11/05 - email received saying my Cingular order has been cancelled.

I still have a charge of 122.33 on my bill on Cingular.com
Cingular.com still says I paid them 158.99 with the confirmation number.
$158.99 is gone from my checking account, has been sent to Bank of America on aforementioned date.

Im so pissed its unbelievable.....I would like to express it but the swear filters will not like me.
 
Cingular is the worst fvcking cellular provider in the world...Well, maybe not the worst but it certainly ranks up there at the top of the list of cellular providers I will never do business with again!

I hope they D.I.A.F. and their stock goes in the toilet and the owners lose their ass and or get jail time in an Enron type scandal.

this makes me feel better
but still gotta call them more and unscrew myself out of $300ish

why are they so departmentalized as to not know anything? they need to not do that anymore. Also, not being able to speak to the same person twice for tech support is "teh worst" idea ever.
 
Verizon is equally as bad. Deceitful billing practices and absolutely helpless CS reps. I think all public service companies in the US are nasty.
 
i was thinking of going with Sprint. I was gonna stick with cingular but after this i may pay the extra few bucks on a diff company just because I hate cingular so much now.
 
Welcome to the world of cell phones... You will be hard pressed to find a reliable company of the lot. I got screwed by Sprint and now have Cingular who haven't given me any problems... It's like all these companies put names in a hat and choose who to screw over.

dont buy/upgrae stuff online

always do it at the stores in your local mall etc. otherwise, its teh suxz0rz
 
Man thats bad. I switched to cingular about 2 weeks ago and love them. I have had a couple problems but they have always been resolved promptly and without cost to me. Nothing but good things to say. Though I have to say I got some misinformation from some of their representitives so maybe its all in who you deal with.

they are usually good, esp for service/price compared to other companys., i think im just unlucky...? i guess...seems like plenty of ppl have bad experiences with them.

I should mention that this is occuring after almost 2 years of perfect service from Cingular, and the trouble started bcof that little Upgrade Phone feature when you log intoyour account....

bastards!
 
dispute the charges maybe. other than that, I don't see how one cellular company is any better/worse than another.
