I check several of my regular POP e-mail accounts through Ureach.com throughout the day. Well today I had 31 new messages, about 20 of them were SPAM, I saw something which looked innocent it said it's from some company the subject line said "Please contact us regarding your order", so I clicked it ... it's an HTML e-mail so there's pictures, I see a scantily clad dressed woman sucking on a long black plastic thing. She wasn't nude and there wasn't "sex" but it was still inappropriate for work! I immediately clicked delete, emptied the trash, deleted my temporary internet files AND cleared my cache.

Damn SPAM and damn pr0n SPAM!

There I feel better now ...

If they were smart they'd forge the domain of some popular etailers like staples or newegg or compgeeks or something as the from address. Usually I can pick 'em off because of the stupid from addresses and just delete them. But they do get you w/ the subjects.

Same thing has happened to me before too...I cleared everything on my PC. I didn't want to chance that at all.

Be careful, RossMAN. A guy at work is going to be fired when they decide the time is right, and that's exactly what they are going to use. Pr0n emails and use of company email system to check outside email.

They're just collecting 10x more evidence than they need to discourage any legal repercussions.

I see more and more companies using this as a selective weapon to get rid of people.

Ameesh - Since I'm checking my POP e-mail, will the filter still work? If so, that's a great idea.

kranky - Thanks for the warning and I totally agree.

I could sue but I wouldn't win because I'm probably in violation of my companies internet/e-mail use policy.

So if I got canned it would be my own damn fault.

Sounds like you need to get McAfee's Spamkiller software. It's not 100% foolproof, but quite close. The filters will allow you to delete the junk before you start reading your E-mail. I've been using this product for about a month now and am quite pleased with the performance.

A little story about pr0n and work for y'all: About 2 years ago, a person who worked in our I.T. department ordered a pr0no tape and had it delivered to work. The mail services group delivered it to the wrong person - in this case, a female manager. Needless to say, this person was canned immediately. I LMFAO when I heard the story because this guy used to be my supervisor a few years earlier - and he was such an a$$, I'm glad they sent him packin'.

whenever i get spam like that, i usually right-click properties to see who sent it before opening (preview pane off)..
