Our dog was bad, she ran away a lot and went into other ppl's trash, etc. Most people were alright about it as we would go pick up whatever she did. This one guy though was a dick and called animal control, and they took her. My mom called animal control and they said that we could go pick her up on monday (it was the weekend i think). Anyway, long story short, they put her down without even waiting until monday. All I can suggest to you is be careful with your dog or the same thing could happen to you. Our dogs now are good and dont run away at all :).

Best of luck.

They put her fvcking down? I'd have sued the living hell out of that place. I'd have owned the city, the county, and the state in which it happens. Seriously though, I really would have been pissed. I don't see how they can do that. Most places you have to have a court order when to euthanize a dog that was taken involuntarily.

My dog jerked her leash out of my hand a bit earlier today. I had to chase her a few streets over, but she is much smaller and quicker than I am. Normally without help it will take me at leasts an hour or so to catch her. So she runs through the yard of this house(least kept up yard and house in the whole neighborhood) and this guy walks out and says "Hey what are you doing in my yard!?" I was frustrated at this point, and I almost said WTF does it look like I'm doing? Anyway, I said "Sir, my dog got of her leash, and I am trying to chase her down so I can take her back home." Now keep in mind this guy is about 40 something, 5'8 140 lbs. He's by far the "one" piece of trash that lives in my neighborhood with his little redneck kids. From there:

Him: "You need to get that mutt off my property."
Me: "Sir, that's what I'm trying to do"
Him: "I'm going to shoot it if you don't get it off my property in 5 minutes."
Me: "Sir, if you touch my dog with a single finger I'll have to hit you back."
Him: "Don't threaten me boy, I'm old enough to be yer Daddy."
Me: "Sir, I'm not THREATENING you, but I'm trying to get my dog off your property like you asked."
Him: "Hurry up."

At this point he disappears back into his house for a few minutes, and I'm trying unsuccessfully to lure my dog away with treats, or catch her on the run.

He appears again:

Him: "Did you get that mutt yet?"
Me: "No, I'm still working on it as you can see."
Him: "I'm going to call animal control and have that mutt impounded."
Me: "Listen here c0cksucker, my patience with you is wearing thin. I'm sorry my dog picked your shit-ass house to meander over to, but evidently she was looking for a low-rent place to defecate."
Him: "Ain't nobody going to be a smartass to me on my own property."

That's when my dog decides to gamely walk up to me, and I am able to grab her leash.

The rest:

Him: "Good get your mutt and leave."
Me: "Are you always this much of a pretentious asshole, or do your white-trash genes just force you to be a POS?"
Him: "Get the fvck out of here, I'm calling the police."
Me: "I'm standing on the street, Einstein, but I'm leaving anyway. Feel free to call them and waste their time."

Then it was over. What a jerk this guy was. I tried being polite, but evidently his white trash DNA prevents him from being a decent human being. If he would have shot my dog I'd have beat him to death with the butt of his on gun. This... my friends, is how those so called "my neighbor shot my dog" type stories happen. Always one fvcking asshole out there.

Update- The update is at the bottom of the thread. If you can't find it then tough sh!t :p

My other neighbor was talking to me after it happened, and she agreed the guy was a prick. I've only been in the neighborhood for a year, but they have been here 6 years. This isn't the first time this guy has pulled some crap like that.

As for people saying I didn't say that... I've never made anything up on AT, and I'm not about to start. That's what I said. I am actually a polite person, but I'm an ass once someone starts deserving it. My dog is a puppy and is quite strong. She's not the first dog I've seen jerk a leash out of someone's hand. It wasn't like she was just pulling and finally got it loose. She was just acting normal and then took off. It startled me and I dropped it. Believe what you like, but I certainly wouldn't make up a story about a freaking dog getting of the leash. It is what I said.

Regardless, she does need better training and I know that. I can also tell that anyone that says "It is his property he can do what he wants" has never owned a home before. You don't piss off your neighbors or be that irresponsible as a homeowner. I really am I nice guy, but I'm also a huge pratical joker and that gets me in trouble on AT. Anything I've ever said was truthful, was in fact truthful. I have zero reason to lie. I'm going to go play with my pet and entertain my guest. Later.

I knew someone would say that, and I almost made fun of it in my post. My OP was too long to update in my personal opinion. To make this thread eakers approved, however, I'll put an update in the first post.

I can't find your update. Is it somwhere after this one? :p

if it was me I wouldn't have threatened to shoot the dog. My neighbors dog on occasion come overs and shits on my grass, I just toss it across the street into their yard, when they aren't looking. I like my neighbors though

I don't know what else you tell someone who less than 24 hours later has the exact same problem. Maybe if you vomit from 20 minutes of exercise its a good thing your dog is out of control and making you chase the mutt to get some exercise.

ylen13 is that you? You certainly sound like a banned troll. You go eat waffles and then run after a dog for 20 minutes. It will make you feel sick, and no I didn't actually vomit, but I felt sick. Eating and then running around is not going to help anyone. Sounds like you are the exercise noob.

Look IMHO you didn't handle yourself so bad given the guy was being a dickhead, but making us look through hundreds of sometimes retarded, useless, redundant posts to look for your small update just cause you're too lazy to hit ctrl-c and then ctrl-v blows more chunks than eating waffles and running for 20 minutes chasing after a dog that obviously likes cletus the dickhead who lost his job and wife and can't control his anger neighbor of yours better than you.

Shoot `em. If it's a mutt and they sue, you'll pay for a mutt. It's cheap, like $20 or so. Just be sure to kill it, if it can be saved, there is no limit to the damages you'll have to pay.

maybe you are a fvcking moron and need to grow a brain. my dog gets loose all the time, but it isnt anyones fault. someone walks through the door and he plows right through them...takes off running. the leash has broken once or twice, and his coller was torn off once. other times, he is being a good dog and then tugs full force when you arent expecting it. you are an idiot if you tell me you need to have a deathgrip on the leash at all times.

Hah! I'll be damned if it didn't happen again today. I went to the petstore yesterday, and bought my puppy an Auburn University collar

dude, you are only making things worse by putting your dog in a pitiful auburn collar. You will soon be on here writing about your dog commiting suicide by running in front of a car. Roll Tide

Mill, you do realize that the only reason people are calling you stupid and saying it's all your fault is because you are such an ass on these forums and we appreciate the opportunity to flame you.

It really has nothing to do with a real opinion of who was right or wrong in that situation.
