yes. you werent really saying "sir", were you? and if it takes you one hour to get your dog everytime it gets out of leash, you have to do something about it. :)

People who can't control their pets shouldn't be allowed to own them.

Bottom line if you had been a responsible parent to your pet and trained it the exchange never would have happened, no one to blame but yourself.

That's a load of crap.

Mistakes will always happen. It's a dog. It's not smart enough to understand property laws and neighborhood politics. She got loose, Mill chased her, and she just happened to pick a bad house.

99.999% of people would have been polite about it. Once they knew that you were just there to get your dog, they would have either gone about their business, or maybe even helped you track your dog down. This guy broke the golden rule, and was just unfriendly.

You're from New York, I gather? That would explain a lot.

seriously, it's not that difficult. wrap the loop around your wrist and hold onto the leash. a 10 year old could do this.

It obviously happens on a regular basis and he has no ability to control it. If you can't keep your dog from running loose around your neighborhood for an hour every time you do something stupid you shouldn't have the pet.

And I'm from Boulder, CO where people respect eachother and their pets by promoting leash laws, picking up their dog poop, and hold owners accountable for the actions of out of control pets. If he can't control a 45lb dog I hope he never has kids.
