Mistakes will always happen. It's a dog. It's not smart enough to understand property laws and neighborhood politics. She got loose, Mill chased her, and she just happened to pick a bad house.
99.999% of people would have been polite about it. Once they knew that you were just there to get your dog, they would have either gone about their business, or maybe even helped you track your dog down. This guy broke the golden rule, and was just unfriendly.
