From CNNSI,

Barrington confirmed that Moss disobeyed an order from the traffic cop and eventually pushed her down the street about 1/2 block using his car. In attempting to stop Moss' car from making an illegal turn, the officer was pushed off her feet by his maroon 2002 Lexus. At that point, Moss stopped his car as the cop called police for assistance.

Doesn't sound like there was any jumping...

The disappointing thing is someone who makes as much as Randy drive a Lexus? Don't you have better standards than that, Randy?

Not saying Lexii are bad, but they're far from the ultimate. Where's the Bentely love? :)

The traffic cops in Mpls ride around in small golf carts. He probably pushed the golf cart, she fell back into her cart, and he pushed the cart 1/2 block

They wont cut him. They dont care what he does outside of football. A postive mssage? bah since when do they care to send a positive message? its all about the money and cutting moss would hurt the amount they get.

Though i think he should be benched for the fact he dont try his hardest on every play and not to mention he has a bad attitude.

Randy Moss is not a smart person. Gets kicked off of the Seminoles by Bobby Bowden himself because he was stupid enough to get caught smoking dope and hiding a girlfriend in his dorm, then THIS? I mean, he's a millionaire, I can't believe he would throw everything away over something like this!

It'll be plea bargained down to a misdemeanor.

Awfully strange here right now. I fully expected to hear cop cars with sirens on, rolling down the street and the neighborhood 10-20 blocks to the south of me to be rioting again. That should of been a good enough excuse for them to start another riot with the excuse of the cops are messing with a black man again.

Yep. So is double homicide. OJ got off. Why? MONEY>MONEY>MONEY. Professional athlete beat every damn rap about 99% of the time. If that was me in that car, they'd have had the SWAT team rappel from the nearest building onto the hood of the car and they'd empty clip after clip of fully automatic weapons fire directly into my chest and skull thru the windshield.

He will pay a fine, make a public apology and life will go on.

Oh, then he'll get sued for physical and psychological damages in CIVIL court. Whoever that cop was will be retiring before Spring 2003.<--"case was settled for an undisclosed amount."

It's b/c of jerks like Moss that I gave up on Pro sports many years ago. Whatever happened to the Reggie Jacksons of the world that would stand outside the stadium before the game and sign baseballs for kids, huh? :|

If the twins weren't doing well these days I might care. But they are, so I don't. Moss is an idiot, as far as I'm concernced he can go to jail for 5 years and never play football again. Looks like its back to pre-'98 crappy vikings.

They haven't used those things for years. They use Chevy Trackers now. They have those traffic cops directing traffic in a few of the busiest intersections downtown for a few hours every night. I'm sure it was just an ordinary person doing her ordinary job on 7th St and Marquette Ave on an otherwise ordinary Tuesday. And if she plays her cards right, she can retire from that daily grind forever from a healty civil suit. He's got a 93 million dollar contract, after all.

I aint sayin' what he did was right...But I ... UNDERSTAND. - Chris Rock

She seemed to be aggrevating the situation on her little power trip. "Delaina Nelson said, it seemed to be a "cat-and-mouse game" in which he wanted her to get out of his way and she aggravated him"

I got to agree with Carbonyl here....this really doesn't seem like such a big deal.

How was she aggrevating the situation? He was in the wrong and she tried to stop him to write him up. He wouldn't stop. Simple?
I appaud her for not moving out of the way. It wasn't the smartest thing to do but it was effective.

Did you read the other witness statement where he said "She just wasn't going to budge," Hullerman said. "He intentionally knocked her over. . .. It was so surreal."

If it was a sworn Police Officer who had a gun, I am sure she would have used it.

Doesn't matter though as he will beat it and go on. I am sure the Vikings will pamper to his every whim. :(

"I look at this woman, and she's blowing a whistle like a mad woman," Delaina Nelson said. "It sounded like a horn, and I had my windows up. And then the next thing I know, she's in front of someone's car. She had her hands on the hood. Her body language was like, 'You're going to stop.' "

It appeared, she said, that the driver was almost toying with the traffic agent, trying to force her to get out of the way so that he could turn, despite her protests.

"He was going real slow," Robert Nelson said. "Apparently, he didn't want to hurt her. I think he was just trying to frighten her into moving."

The Nelsons said they watched in disbelief as the woman turned around, placed her behind on the hood of the car and walked in front of it as the car nudged her down the street. The car turned onto Marquette as she continued to walk in front of it, they said.

Jerry Hullerman, a courier, was eating a sandwich in his truck on Marquette when he saw a man he later learned was Moss, nudging Zaccardi with his car. At one point, he said, it appeared Moss had stopped and she stood up from the hood of his car.

"She just wasn't going to budge," Hullerman said. "He intentionally knocked her over. . .. It was so surreal."
Doesn't exactly sound like a felony to me. Sure, he was in the wrong, but it sounds like the traffic officer was out of line, too. He'll probably get cited for the illegal turn and something for giving the agent a hard time.

They just showed his car on the back of a tow truck on the news. It looks like a black Lexus LS 450 with Florida (huh?) license plates U49 HZK and custom wheels.

For doing this:

You and me- getting the crap beat out of us when we are taken in
Him- "Please get in the car sir"

You and me- well ain't no time like prison time
Him- Verbal tongue lashing from judge, fine, community service he will never really have to do.

He will be treated just like you and me.

I can't believe some of the replies in this thread.

He drove for 1/2 a block with a person on his hood!!! That's attempted murder in my opinion.

If a dumb bizitch sat her fat ass on my car, I'd tap on the gas too.

Tom Bernards take on the situation this morning on the KQ morning show was pretty entertaining. :)

would this be such big news if it wasn't a pro? everything having to do with actors or profesionals are blown out of proportion.....always in the public eye....
