I'm not biased at all.

you can say that all you want but its obvious that you are.

Fedor has fought all THE BEST fighters and has won.

he hasnt fought randy.

I dont put my faith in any fighter, i have my favorites, but i certaintly wouldnt write off randy or whoever just because hes in not my favorite or overwhelmingly more popular then his opponent.

people can say so and so will beat so and so hands down, dominate, destroy, etc... but its not said and done until it actually goes down.

I just finished watching this

Wow. Fedor is an animal.

Well, Fedor prevented everyone from knowing the answer to the greatest question ever asked. I think he was a coward too myself.
That's is the dumbest sh!t I've heard. What was the question? If he can beat up an old wrestler? The answer is yes. You need anything else answered? Yes, I'm sure he was scared of Randy.

now obviously you're biased and youll probably just be lame and flame but the question is who is the best, UFC HW or PRIDE HW.
I'm not biased at all. I give credit where credit is due. I like Randy, but he is just boring to watch. He deserves where he is right now. HOWEVER, Fedor is in a whole different league. Fedor has fought all THE BEST fighters and has won. Randy has fought all the best UFC fighters (which I don't hold in very high regards). Big difference. But he IS the UFC champion, and he deserves to be. If Fedor DID fight him, I'd say he should be able to run over Randy pretty easily.

yeah those UFC fighters suck. Those pride fighters are just fuckign dominating UFC....

pride's got some great fighters but not all the top fighters are dominating... Shogun loss to Forest, Cro Cop lost to Kongo...

yeah it was sarcasm.

the elite have got there ass kicked. Shogon and cro cop were sopposed to come in and just flatten everyone.

whoops missed that, yeah
i was expecting cro cop to rock Gonzaga and Kongo
Shogun was horrible against Forrest

It stopped being cool when they all went to submission style and stopped matching up hugely different styles.

I want to see a boxer fight a sumo wrestler!

I found it has gone down hill also, but for more reasons than you have stated!hehe. I basically never tuned into anything UFC in the past 3 -4 months and have gone back to Boxing. I found it has turned into a huge hype machine. It is all marketing now. The fights are boring and nothing more than ground n pound or sloppy attempts at boxing.

The Taylor vs Pavlik fight last month was incredible and I cannot wait for the Calzaghe vs Kessler and Cotto vs. Mosely fights.

My PPV money will be well spent.

Pride used to do a lot of freak shows like that, such as Royce Gracie vs. that sumo wrestler, Genki Sudo vs. Butterbean, Big Nog vs. Bob Sapp, and I guess Fedor vs. Zulu, and also Big Nog and Fedor vs. Semmy Schilt fit that category as well. The reason the UFC can't do freak shows is because of the NSAC imposed weight classes.

As for the dominance of grapplers in MMA, it's mostly because there's no other professional outlet for grappling, at least none that are financially lucrative; whereas strikers can make quite a bit of money sticking with their own sport (if not more than MMA); and thus, there's no incentive for strikers to cross over. The only first class strikers to cross over would be Mark Hunt (former K-1 heavyweight champion, still with Pride), and Lil' Nog (South America amateur boxing champ, Brazilian national boxing team) and Cro Cop, who've both done poorly of late.

Randy is playing actor on 'The Unit'. 😛 He better get some acting lessons if he thinks hollywood is the place to be. He isn't horrible, but he sure isn't smooth.

UFC press conference

Semi-Cliffs:
Randy got a $250,000 signing bonus before the Sylvia fight and $250,000 after the Sylvia fight for a total half million signing bonus.
Randy made $9XX,XXX on the PPV cut from ufc 68, not $500,000 like he said in his press conference.
The UFC passed out a media packet with specifics about Randy's contract and even his canceled signing bonus checks.
Randy's still under contract and the UFC not ruling out legal action.
Dana thinks Fedor sucks.....hasn't fought anyone since 2005.
Dana wasn't going to pay Fedor more than Randy like Randy seems to think.
Dana felt like he got kicked in the throat by the whole Couture situation.
Dana's never going to talk about the Randy situation or the money involved in the UFC again after this press conference.
Dana says "We'll find out!" when asked if Randy has to fight 2 more times or if he can just wait 9 months (what Randy's people think)
Dana and Lorenzo seem really bothered by how Randy did his press conference.
Dana thinks this is coming from Randy's "Puke Hollywood agent".
The UFC is planning on offering Randy a fight with Nogueira.
If Randy turns it down, he has to retire and they'll take #1 and #2 to fight for the title (They don't know if it'll be Sylvia - [Let's hope not]).
Dana laughed about the "Dana's not necessarily a bad guy" and felt like Randy was mad at him.
Randy's made $2.9 million for 2 fights this year.
Randy had been paid $160,000 for his announcing duties this year.
Dana reiterated that "You can't resign from a contract".
"You will never see Lorenzo Fertitta at a press conference again".
Dana said "Fedor doesn't affect my business one way or another"
"Fedor would have never made more money than Randy Couture...I would have never let Fedor make more money than Randy Couture".
Dana said he still loves Randy; they've never had a problem with him.
"I coulda' cared less about Fedor [signing him]. Fedor was for Randy"

Man, the plot thickens. It seems like Randy's press conference was aimed at hurting the UFC and it looks like a lot of it was not true. Long press conference, but Dana controlled himself and I don't think he dropped a single F-bomb...a new record for him.

Couture vs. Big Nog would be great.

If it happens, yeah.

After watching the UFC's press conference, I'm leaning towards Couture being the jerk in this situation.

As an aside, I'm just glad that we finally get to see Silva/Liddell. Won't have the same appeal as before because both of them have been on losing streaks, but should be a good fight.

Wow, that press conference is pretty eye-opening...changes what I think about Randy. Say all you want about this "puke Hollywood agent", but Randy's a decently smart man and he's not doing anything that he doesn't want to. I'd hate to see things go down the legal road (who wants to see a fight that's out of necessity and not desire?), but it is a business and Dana hasn't exactly shortchanged Randy in pay.

I wonder how much money the #2-4 fights at each UFC make for the fighters...?
