Randomly ALL games crash

Hello, I am recently facing an issue which causes all my games to crash at some point.

- Fallout 3, FEAR 2 crash when I try to open the gamw
- CoD 4 Crashes the moment I connect to a server
- L4D will randomly crash in game after 10-15 min
- *EDIT* MSN crashes on windows start up

I have NO idea what is causing this, I have not done any hardware/software upgrades, it was literally one day I turned on my computer and nothing worked.

Currently I am re-installing all my video card drivers and sound card drivers... But while I was trying to patch my current video card (HD 4850) I kept getting an error saying

"Setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration. Please make sure you have the required hardware or software."

And this is the 4850 driver...so...I have no idea... Any help or advice would be great, id REALLY rather not format my computer if at all possible which, I assume isn't.

Quite often, such crashes are video memory related. I would suspect that your video card has gone South. Can you try a replacement?
 
I sure as hell hope not >.< but yes I can Ill try that. But...its weird, some of my other games (Crysis, TF2, FarCry2) they run completely fine, all the others seem to crash upon trying to run the .exe
