Two Thai fishermen show off an endangered giant catfish they landed on the Mekong River in Chiang Khong district. Environmentalists negotiated for the release of the 646-pound monster, believed to be the world's largest living freshwater fish, so it could spawn. Unfortunately it died, so the village ate it.
