What if you were attacked by a flock of whitish-looking owls and there was a possibility that they were ALBINO spotted owls. I.E. the spots were invisible?

Could you still be charged with harming a spotted owl if indeedy the spots were not spots, but unspots?

I say there would be no problem with pummeling the vicious beasties, legally speaking. Owls are nasty little buggers- a friend of mine was attacked in broad daylight by a barn owl, who knocked him down and broke his glasses! I think as long as you were defending yourself you would not get in trouble (it might be best to refrain from marinating and barbequing it over mesquite afterwards, though).
