Random Restarts

Alright, so I've turned off the auto restart function, and my random restarts are due to a bluescreen error, but the screen is BLANK. Just blue. Does that indicate anything to anyone? What info would you like? I've just replaced my PSU, SeaSonic 500W, x800pro, p4 prescott w/ Scythe FCS-50 on it, antec lanboy which I replaced the front and back 120mm fans, Intel D865PERL mobo. Any other info? Running XP Home.

Not the ram, at least not according to memtest86...The hard drives wouldn't work when I swapped the cords on accident while doing some routine cleaning. Is that pertinent info? How would I check the HD?

go to your hard drive manufactures website download their testing software image and burn it to a cd, make your computer boot off a cd then proceed with testing

I haven't had a chance to check the HDs yet, but I got a bluescreen that had actual info.

The top like was
BAD_POOL_CALLER

and the bottom was
0x000000C2, 0x00000007, 0x00000CD4, 0x0000002B, 0x85FF8008

I wasn't playing a game while this happened, but I was using winamp, and had something running in Firefox using QuickTime.

Is there anything in c:\windows\minidumps? That will tell you the cause of the dumps.

BAD_POOL_CALLER means that the virtual memory pool has been corrupted. This is caused by bad/overclocked memory or bad/broken drivers. I had the same problem caused by XP trying to verify a Firewall driver.

ya i had same thing. I couldnt figure out how to fix it so i just reformated my comp cause i didnt feel like fighting with my computer any more. How did u go about fixing it? Incase I run into this problem again.

Simply open up the memory dumps and take a look at what caused the problem with a debugger.

Send me the memory dumps from c:\windows\minidumps and run MPSReports and send me the resulting output *.CAB file (see my .sig) and I'll tell you, if I can, what's going wrong.

well i would if i still had the problem but i just reinstalled windows to fix the problem.
