I get random cpu restarting when I'm playing games or surfing the web.
I think it may be an overheating problem or a power supply problem.
If it's a power supply problem...how can I make adjustments?

thx

Me too. When I'm using Win2k Pro and I'm playing a game, sometimes I want to temporarily access the desktop. So I hit Alt+tab or the Window button. But sometimes when I do this it reboots, or hangs then reboots. This doesn't happen in Win98. Anyone able to offer suggestions on this?

More often than not, it's your power supply. The only "adjustment" you can make is to replace it with a better, more powerful unit.

Try playing games with your case open,then try what " badthad" said a better PSU,if you still get problems then it`s possible a faulty CPU.

I have experienced the same problem but have also had a problem that seems to occur when the USB port is being accessed. I have a HotSync cradle for a Visor and an HP printer that both use the USB port and both have caused reboots.

I am running;
Abit KA7-100, Athlon 700, 128MB Micron Ram, 2 Hard drives, 1 CD-Rom, 1 CD-Burner
Full Tower case with 300W Smartpower, 3 Case fans
SBLive Value, VooDoo 3000, Cable Modem (PCI nic)

Any advice would be appreciated.

Ionizer86 - That happens to me when I play Age of Empires and try to switch out of it. I'm pretty sure my problem is related to my video card (a Diamond Viper V770). I haven't looked for a fix, I just know not to Alt+Tab when I play.
