I still wonder if there is a short somewhere.

Try this, unplug all front panel connectors (and non-essential devices, such as memory card readers) for the board and power supply. Turn the computer on with the power button on the bottom of the board. See if you are experiencing the same behavior.

I went ahead and unplug them, computer is still freezing. Switched out the power supply and still getting the same thing.

Yeah, I'm going to try and swap on the RAM on it just to make sure. If that doesn't work I'll see if MSI will swap it out.

Sounds like a good plan. I read reviews on your case (both websites and forums) over the weekend, and nobody is really complaining about shorting issues.

The BIOS should also have basic infirmation about your power supply voltage, check the 3.3V, 5V, and 12V rail voltages in there. Also, try running the system out of the case to see if that helps, put the motherboard on the box it came in and just run it like that temporarily, this will eliminate the case shorting it out.

Did you run it out of the case yet?

I have not run it out of the case yet. Might be traveling soon and will need to ship the comp so going to wait to find out if that is the case. Might try it in the mean time, but don't have the best setup in the room I am in to really want to give it a shot.

So I changed out the RAM and I haven't had any issues for the past hour now...downloading ESO from steam so we'll see if that finishes without freezing/restarting. If it works then I think I'll consider the problem fixed.
