UPDATE4: did system restore to 3/20 (don't have any earlier points
), just a second ago my computer restarted without a BSOD. AGhhhh so frustrating. Help is really appreciated
UPDATE3: Still getting them. What should these settings be in my BIOS?
AGP Aperature Size - 128MB or 64MB? (I have the 64MB gf4)
Init. Display - PCI slot or AGP?
CPU THRM Throttling - 50.0% (ranges from 75.0% to Disabled)
More ideas would be nice. Thanks again for the help guys
UPDATE2: Seems to like to give me a BSOD when i go to gamecenter on www.sportsline.com (get there by clicking follow live stats) even with nothing else running
UPDATE: I keep getting BSOD's now with JUST 2 IE windows open
I let windows manage my page file and i still get them. What size should my page file be?
I think the problem is the nVidia drivers i got. I Anyone know where to get older versions of drivers? Also, if i'm just installing new nVidia drivers do i need to use driver cleaner?
Also, heres a picture of my advanced video card settings...i'm not sure if the think i boxed in red is correct. My card is in the AGP slot and it appears to be getting agp performance...so is this normal?
The BSOD is the DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL one. This really is frustrating :\
Trendmicro housecall did not find any viruses.
Once again, does anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks
My computer keeps randomly restarting for some reason
My temps don't look too high and it's been restarting when I've just been multi taksing with some IE windows, AIM, winamp msn messenger, etc. open.
I have a:
P4 2.8C - Retail HSF w/ AS5 - running @ 2.8GHz now
Abit IC7 Mobo
512MB Corsair XMS RAM PC3500 (2x256) Dual channel - cas2.5, 1:1
GeForce 4 Ti4200 64MB 53.03 drivers (not sure of gpu temp)
CD ROM, CD-RW, 80GB HD
Right now my temps are (according to Abit EQ):
SYS: 28C (this is always 28C...i think something might be messed up with the thermometer)
CPU: 39.5C
PWM: 34.5
Vcore and the DDRVcc are default.
I used trendmicro housecall a few minutes ago and I didn't have a virus. Ad-aware brought up alot of stuff but that was from that new game bull**** on the new AIM version.
I haven't changed any of the settings on my motherboard that might cause the computer to restart automatically (i think).
I put it together about a month ago...It's also lightining right now but I have a surgeprotector and nothing else is going off so I doubt it's that.
If anyone know what is happening or any ways to trouble shoot please LMK.
