I have a SFF PC here at work that seems to not want to play nice.
It will randomly reboot or just shut itself down all the way with no rhyme or reason as to why/where/when its doing it.

My first inclination is to point at the PSU but wanted to see what others may think.

Trick is, is that its got some funky "fat-L" shaped PSU that I cant seem to locate anywhere to replace it with.

One odd thing Ive noticed is that it seems to lose video single to the monitor after some time, but still runs for a like a min and then reboots itself.

Motherboard or PSU?

Removing the cover from a PC will have a pretty serious impact on airflow, meaning that temperatures can actually be higher with the case off because the air paths will have been removed. The air will just circulate into the room.

Of course, if removing the case lowers temperatures then there's something very wrong with the airflow ;)
