Random Reboots!! HELP!!

My computer is rebooting randomly and i have no idea why!?

Could it a compatability issue with something in my computer?

I can't even type 2 lines of something without it rebooting!

I'm assuming that the linked rig is the one giving you problems.

I used to have lots of random lockup problems with the exact same CPU, motherboard, and memory. It usually comes down to two things: BIOS and PSU. Early revisions of the 8KHA+ had bad BIOS's installed on them; the latest BIOS update from Epox's website should solve all of those issues.

Second, what kind of PSU are you using? Initially, I had an old 300W Supermicro PSU in my case that just wasn't cutting it. I replaced it with an Antec 350W and I haven't had a lockup problem since. Athlons are VERY picky with the voltage supply fed through the power rails.
 
I'm using the PSU that came with my case, it's a 300 watter, I've been running my rig perfectly for about 2 months since i got it and all of a sudden today it randomly reboots. Could it be a problem with my temperature? cuz it seemed to be a bit up there......
 
Can anyone else please help?

I cannot find the latest bios because epox.com isn't working currently, and I'm not sure if my 300W PSU is sufficient. HELP!!!
 
Could be a faulty PSU,I had random reboots followed by it powering down,turned out to be my new AMD 300w approved PSU going faulty after 9 months,anyway what temps you getting and what CPU do you have,it could be a few things.
 
Ok is it that XP 1700+ you`ve overclocked I would say it`s a PSU problem, your 300w is probably not enough especially with Epox boards since they like good combined power on the rails so need a decent PSU,anyway reduce the OC back to normal speed and see if that helps,if not a better PSU would seem to be in order.

If you think it`s a heat problem try it with the case open and at default speed still.
 
I've got it runnin at normal speed now, with the case open, and haven't had any problems. Could I have somehow messed something up o/c it too high and maybe busted a wire or something?
 
If it`s fine at normal speed with the case open then it`s either PSU or temp problem,since overclocking puts more strain on the PSU and will increase the temp on the CPU.


You are probably better off getting a Dual fan PSU like the Antec 350w or Enermax at least that will give you more power and help reduce temps at the same time.

Do you mean a better ps will help with cpu temps? How's that?

Some PSUs like Enermax have a second fan on the PSU that suck air from the case out so they reduce case temps which also help cpu temps,remember a hot case will be no good for the cpu while a cooler case will help a little.If the cpu is still too hot then a better heatsink/fan will be the best solution.

I have the same problem, only twice so far. I use a 1.4@1520 1.7v 41c w/Volcano7 and 2 Sunon fans. AK31ver2 400w noname ps. I'm wondering if updating the bios would help? Especially with o/c'ing further.

Could be afew things like OC stability where you might need to back down a little on the cpu speed or bump the CPU core voltage up or even the quality of the PSU etc,your best bet is to go to the CPU/overclocking forum all the experts are there.
