i've got a permedia 2v 8mb. i tried this with a matrox millenium 4mb pci before and it was even worse. My first vid card is a radeon LE running the newest drivers that are in the supported part. version 3102 . I'm running win2k. Permedia 2v is running the supplied drivers from win2k CD (there are no other ones). Its on the hardware compatibility list as was the matrox that i tried before. The matrox millenium 4mb worked fine when i had a g400 to go with it, but with the radeon it locked up during certain things. Now i buy a permedia and it locks up randomly like every hour or so, i'll get a "this program has performed an illegal blah, windows is closing it". Most of the time it works though. I have via 4.129 installed, i tried it without it installed , there was no difference. ACPI is enabled, and i dont know how to turn it off, so all my cards have been routed to irq 9. Can anyone help. If i dont "extend desktop" to the other monitor, no lock ups even with the permedia installed. Is this just an ATI problem or is there a fix?

hahahahahahahaahahahhaha, get a Geforce, or go back to the Matrox. Your 2nd monitor wasn't even that useful anyway. ;) I say Geforce 3, hehe.

P.S. This is like an inside joke thing, don't don't bother taking what I said into account...sorry. =)

But, my brother doesn't get random lockups (I don't think), and he has dual monitor and the AIW Radeon. Is it lockups or just IE crashing?

If you really want to disable ACPI, you just go to device manager and change your computer from a ACPI PC to a standard PC.
