i was getting checksum errors and improper cpu frequency errors upon bootup, and i was getting frequent lockups while surfing the web. o i flashed my bios, but it didn't fix the problem. so i formatted my c drive and installed win 2000, from win 98 se, and it didnt' work. i'm thinking of replacing my mobo or cpu. i know my mobo is notorious for sucking, and it's not officially compatible with my cpu, so i'm thinking of replacing it. BTW, one time i set the cpu frequency in bios for 133 thinking it was something else, and it made bad beeping sounds and restarted in safe-bios mode, do you think this would have damaged my cpu? I have a slot A 800 Tbird. What's the problem?
Also, and most importantly, what is the best mobo for a slot A 800 Tbird for someone who wants to do gaming. I'm looking for a stable system, with a reliable agp slot, unlike my current kx133. I want a quality stable motherboard.
