I'm on a home network, in which I have 2 Win98 computers and my WinXP computer connected to a Netgear RT314 router with cable internet access (which has never been the problem). Ever since I updated to Windows XP, I'll lose my internet access randomly. This is a weird situation:
1. It happens about twice per hour of surfing now on my Windows XP machine. I will be surfing the internet, and suddenly I will get a server not found error.
2. During this time, my internet and e-mail will not work, but FTP and instant messengers already connected will continue to work.
3. I will ONLY lose access on my machine - the Win98s never lose access.
4. If I reset my router by unplugging it and plugging it back in, I will get access back right away, but eventually I will lose it again.
5. I have all firewalls disabled, and all updates for my router (running 3.25).
6. I have tried using different router ports, and still my machine is the only one that loses access.
I called Netgear, and they told me it was a setting problem in XP (what a surprise), and to look in the Knoledge Base at Microsoft.com and I should have no problem. Well, that knowledge base did jack for me, though I don't know exactly what I'm looking for besides a problem with a router in XP.

Thanks for any and all help.
