OK, I actually have 2 problems:

1) This all started happening after I got my Asus V7700 GeForce2 GTS video card... During cold starts of win2k, my PC would freeze during the bootup screen (when the blue-bar is about 1/2 way across). Now this ONLY happens when u are starting the PC by pressing the power button. If you re-start it does not happen... Also, whenever this happens, all I have to do is press the 'restart' button on the case, and after a couple of times, it will boot fine into win2k, and I will not get this problem again until I shutdown my PC....

Now I am running the lastest VIA 4-in-1 drivers (v4.32) and 12.90 detonator drivers... before i was running v4.29 VIA drivers and 12.00 detonator drivers and the problem was still there...

I also found something very interesting... When I start my PC and win2k hangs during bootup, if I let it hang there for a couple of mins before pressing restart, it can successfully boot into windows the next time. If I press restart immediately, I will have to restart a couple of times before it boots successfully...

2) This started happening after I got my Microsoft Optical wheel mouse. The PC will randomly freeze during normal applications (like surfing, ICQ, etc... nothing intense). Now I have the mouse plugged into the USB port of my PC, and win2k automatically detected it and installed the drivers. I did not install mouse drivers myself.

Here is my system specs:
AMD T-Bird 700Mhz
Asus A7V mobo
Fujitsu 6.4Gig HD
512MB PC-133 RAM
Asus V7700 32MB
SB Live! Value
Sigma Designs Hollywood+ DVD decoder

Anyone know what might solve this?

PS. I have not yet installed win2k SP1 or SP2 on my system... I just did a clean format last night and the problem is still there...
