My computer keeps randomly freezing when I leave it on for an hour or so... it also freezes doing some other things.. I just reformatted and it was fine previously what could be wrong?

I would suspect RAM or PSU without any more information.

What psu are you using?
If it is a no-brand, or a cheap one, then that would be my suspect.

Otherwise, run MEMTEST overnite [from boot floppy/cd]

memtest can also run from CD..do you have a cd burner? So you are saying it did not do this prior to you reformating it? Did you make sure all of the proper drivers are installed? Video card drivers, chipset drivers, etc..??

My burner just broke, I have all drivers installed and no it did before that's why I reformatted it just started all of a sudden.

Well it's most likely from heat, a weak PSU, or a memory problem..perhaps you know somebody with a cd-burner that can burn a copy of memtest for you? You should also run a program such as motherboard monitor, to watch your temps and voltages..
