Ok, posted here last week about some blocking and banding problems I was having. Sure enough got a cheapie card and that fixed.
Well, shortly after my video card started to fritz, I also started having problems with the computer completely freezing up. Sometimes I can't even reset, have to turn it off from the back.

With the new card (Radeon 7000) I'm still getting the same problem, I loaded up 2 websites and a video today, Speedfan listed the temperature at 30 deg. C and yet another crash.

CPU fan was running, so not sure what could be causing this exactly, could the RAM, CPU or anything else have been damaged by the video card problems (I'm assuming that the card fan might have stopped, and the heat damaged the card).

Thanks for your help on the last problem, I just can't seem to get rid of em all!

probably not a ram issue, because you can't seem to reset it without manually turning the system off. if it were a ram issue, you should be able to reset via the reset button.

random thought-maybe it's the power supply overheating?

just my 2 cents...

Maybe, certainly seems to be something involving heating. I can make the computer stay on longer by removing the side panel and putting a regular room fan facing the computer. From what I gather the temperature reading is from the hard drive, but not sure how hot anything else is.

Have you tried checking the bios to see what temp the CPU/Case are? Let us know what type of motherboard/hardware you have
