Hey, does anyone happen to know how to fix a seatbelt that wont 'unravel' anymore?

i have a 1999 Taurus and the passenger seatbelt just refuses to open, i have no idea what is going on.

thanks.

it wont pull out of the "roll" on the bottom of the car.

After searching google, it looks like there was a recall on these a few years ago, anyone know if they are required to honor the recall whenever or is there a expiration?

If it was a safety recall, they never expire.

If it was a "program", that would have had an expiration date.

To find out, all you need is for someone to run your VIN on Ford's Oasis system....that'll show if there's any open recalls or not.

I honestly don't remember any safety recalls on those particular Taurus models, though. But Ford had so many that I certainly might have forgotten.

Just call a dealership and ask for someone to run an Oasis on your car to see if it has any recalls.

If there aren't any, you need a new seatbelt retractor.
