Random Date changes in NT

We have a couple of NT Server 4 that are used for testing, and at random, the current month and year changes from June 2001 to a random month and 2053.

This only happens to 2 servers, and other NT4 servers don't do this. Wondering if anyone else out there have seen this problem, and what they associate it with. Bad motherboard/bios maybe?

Thanks.

Have you tried latest service packs (I believe the latest for Server is 6)?

Although your particular issue isn't mentioned in MS Knowledge Base, most time-related issues in there are mentioned as corrected in service packs...

Err... did started today? I have a guy overhere who after setting the correct time after about 3 minutes it changes to one year ago. We use time servers here and I have only one workstation with that problem.

Sounds like a dead, or soon to be, CMOS battery. It does that when the voltage drops out. Go by another $4 battery at Radio Shack and your problem will be solved.

Thanks everyone for their input in this matter. I will check out the CMOS battery first to see if that is the case, which makes most logical sense.
