I have tried an Asus A7N8X deluxe motherboard with crucial ddr400 pc3200 memory at timings of 3-3-3-8. In dual channel memory configuration the pc would boot but once it got to windows it would crash.
In single channel mode it would crash intermittently. Sometimes after 2 minutes sometimes after 8 hours of playing a game with intense graphics. I had done a few memory tests in multiple operating systems. Ran memtest86 from a linux boot disk with no errors even after 8+ hours. used the windows/ dos version of memtest86 and no errors after about 12+ hours. Ran the windows memory tester for another 8 hours and no problems detected. So I RMA'd the board and purchased an Epox EP-8RDA3+. The system is 100% stable in single channel mode. But again in dual channel it crashes instantly. I didnt return the crucial memory but did purchase another kit of memory from patriot systems. The kit is 1gb with 2.5-2-3-5 timings. With the new memory again it works in single channel but not in dual channel. It was stable at 166 FSB dual channel though so i tried the memory at 190FSB dual channel and it worked flawlessly. I then tried the crucial at 190FSB and it crashed. I backed the crucial to 166 and it appeared to work although i had not extensivly tested it. I guess my question is this. Since the motherboard is not the cause. Could it be the nforce2 chipset is not allowing dual channel with the higher latency ram? My powersupply is only 300W made by powerman. Could the powersupply be causing the instability. Note: powersupply does not have a +12v connector that goes to the motherboard, it instead has an adaptor that goes on one of the drive power cables. The asus dont even use that connector but this epox does. Could the CPU be not functioning 100% correctly? I am not overclocking in any way. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You have listed two different names for your PSU.

Neither one I recognize. I'd suspect it.

Edit: I hope it's not a Powmax, they're one of the worst.
