Random app crashes, memtest - fine, orthos - fail

So it started off as just being crashing during SC2, it progressed into crashing in Firefox and IE. After reformatting and installing windows three times (first two were bad installs...) I ran memtest, it ran all night on extended testing without error. When I run orthos it finds an error and then crashes within a minute. I was running overclocked/overvolted (slightly) and I have since set it back to default and still the same symptoms.

After the format it did seem that app crashes slowed down, however application installs are usually corrupt the first or second time. 🙁

So, I have no components to swap and I am looking for some advice.. basically Motherboard or Processor?

Temps are good, 40 C max system temps, processor in the 30C range.

Typically I just get generic crashes, mostly like blehbleh.dll failed or just the windows 7 program failure - must close sort of dialogue box.

It could be the power supply, fried memory from the overclocking/overvolting, heat. You will have to try and simply and isolate to make it easier. For sure though, keep using Memtest+ to test it. When you use it, you don't have to run it overnight. Just one pass is fine.

From what you've mentioned. I'm leaning toward power supply, heat. Even if you CPU temps are ok, RAM can heat up as well.
