Great game. I used to play the Melee mode with my older brother all the time.

I was only seven or so, so I wasn't very good at the story mode. Watched my brother beat it though.

I could beat just about any ship with the Arilou.

Story mode was simply genious.

You know its now open source on the PC and you can play it at any time and download for free btw

I've played through it at least once a year since I figured out how to get it to run on my very first computer in '96. I still love going to Alpha Centauri and getting as many exotics as I can right off the bat. Thank god for Toys for Bob! They are *campers* who like to *play* and are good for *playing*.

Sorry, this is CRAP compared to Star Control that I played on the Sega Genesis.

It's like they downgraded everything with SC2. What a waste of a download.......... Deleting now.

and i even played free download of XP compatible version a few years ago...for maybe 30 some hours straight. sad, yes. but not anymore, hehe.

Wow it actually has a little progress bar indicating how much time is left on the dialogue/video. That's pretty cool

FYI, you are comparing a PORT of a game from the PC to a genesis to a second generation game that has more depth and involvement than the original did by leaps and bounds, and calling it crap?

Sorry friend, but you need to go back to your Genesis and stay 16bit I think. There is a reason that this game is always listed in the top 25-50 of all time.. every time.

I got stuck and quit. I just don't have the hundreds of hours I used to put into a game to try every single possible thing to move on like I did back when I was a kid. There's a reason modern games make it clear what you're supposed to do next.
