There's two sides to the mask science. Blocking things coming in to you. Blocking things leaving you. The simple barrier of a mask helps prevent outward projection of viral carriers from spreading as easily. If you are in a room full of covid riddled air, a cloth mask will not do much. The entire concept is doing anything we can to cut down on the outward projection so you don't need as effective barriers on the inbound side.

I can't figure out which one of these morons is the biggliest loser:

Rand Paul Says YouTube Account Suspension Over Mask Comments Is 'Badge of Honor'

The Republican senator, who is an eye surgeon, had another video removed by YouTube last week over similar remarks about the effectiveness of masks.

They seem to be trying to out-stupid each other.

I say, bring on the

Funny, I don't remember him saying anything like that after his neighbor beat the shit out of him.

I'm really not understanding people not understanding the concept of belts and suspenders. Theoretically, you only need one, but to be safe, why not both (masks and vaccine). Is your own breath that bad?
There are plenty of vaccinated people on our side of the political spectrum who gladly shed their masks as soon as the CDC gave the (premature) all-clear in May. In modern western societies, we don't don face masks customarily and many people just don't particularly enjoy it for social reasons. Obviously during a pandemic of an airborne respiratory virus, masks were crucial and saved a lot of lives. But as simple and logical as this may seem, a large swath of people can't be bothered to deal with logic and science anymore. Even worse, they'll reject it because their tribal leaders have walked them over the cliff as the lemmings they are.

It's unlikely to happen, but flu seasons could be less severe if we made it a custom of wearing face masks for that part of the year.

What he and about half of America do not understand is none of the rights are absolute. Including the first amendment.
You cannot yell "FIRE" in a crowded movie theater and call it free speech because people might get trampled.
You cannot spread lies about a deadly virus because people might go out and spread it and die by the millions.

Which they have.

In fact I think any politician who spreads deadly misinformation should be arrested for manslaughter. People actually listen to them and thats a real problem.
Just to confirm I understand your stance, you support punishing politicians that mislead people about COVID?

Only if we can prove it was deliberate misinformation. to a criminal degree. like we know they knew better and said the opposite and people died because of it.
There is precedent for that. I think that was one of the charges used against officials during the Flint water crisis. But so few of those people were ever actually charged and convicted.

This little gem just popped up on CNN. Paul's wife bought stock in Remdesivir, hmm. Insider trading?

Seemed fine when Pelosi's husband did it... repeatedly...over and over.... with stocks effected by direct committees that Pelosi leads.

So all elected officials should have to put their assets in a blind trust, agreed?
And that does not mean handing it off to their children.

For those that feed upon the gullible by feeding into their paranoia. For those that are disseminating information known to be false for the purpose of obtaining money and or political power, which intern can lead to the death of the gullible marks - a week’s suspension from You Tube or Facebook is a fucking joke.
