Senate baby SENATE! It's a whole different ballgame. 😉
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok my bad, a Senate seat he may not win. And if the house can ignore Ron Paul, the Senate will find a way to ignore Rand Paul. Senate Republicans are as pro big government as Senate Democrats. The only tweedledee twedledum small difference between big government Republirats and Dimocrats is what parts of government they want to grow more.

And in fact, the biggest growths of Government in history occurred under Reagan and GWB, its still too early to have a Obama estimate yet, and much of that is in the form of financial bailouts caused by GWB economic meltdown.

Nothing against Rand Paul, but I just can't see the country that elected the Messiah barely a year ago embracing the concept of limited government in any significant fashion. Americans are no longer the people we once were; the majority of us demand that government fill the role that our parents once played.

KY is pretty conservative/freedom loving people outside the two major cities. And, IIRC obama got his butt kicked in this state. Remember who the Senate Minority leader is - KY Mitch McConnell.

I love politicians. Shit like "WE ARE GOING TO TAKE THE GOVERNMENT BACK!" What amazing rhetoric, yet it means nothing. He won't do shit, just like every other jackass politicians hasn't done shit. Telling people what they want to hear is not accomplishing something.

Yes, I should have worded that better. I meant not that he had no chance in Kentucky, but rather that the movement he represents has little chance of becoming dominant or even influential in America as a whole.

Everything goes in swings.. I think once Americans realize the tremendous mess we've gotten ourselves into with these entitlements and begins to feel the practical results of the debt needed to finance them, they will be more receptive to the libertarian message. It would be nice to have a few good spokesmen in power when the time comes.

True, but I have little faith that day will come. I fear instead we will continue to scream that OUR priorities are good but YOUR priorities are destroying my country.

I doubt it. The entitlements will keep the mob complacent until the house of cards finally crashes in, and then it won't matter anymore.

If the entire American house of cards come crashing down, it will have nothing to do with health care. And everything to do with the fact that our balance of trade went into the Red in 1980, and neither party is talking about it.

But one of these days, the world will simply quit selling us goods on credit, and then the merry go round will come to a screeching halt.

Saw my first Anti-Paul Grayson commercial yesterday. I predict a Paul decline before the primary.

Maybe. But all my coworkers and friends are getting their friends and family to donate and support him. So far nobody in that circle disagrees with anything he's running on. Then again these people have work ethic and motivation and therefore are somewhat successful so they don't like all the tax increases being made.

There you go again, Paul Bots only talking to Paulbots, 100% agreement there, but when the question came to the larger electorate, Paulbots polled about 4% or less in 2008.

4% of 300 million people is 12 million people, it can seem a huge and imposing group, but its still only 4% of the American electorate. And I have yet to see an iota's of evidence that the American people are more ready to embrace the Libertarian movement in 2010, than they were in 2008.

But I do not mean to censor Paulbots, they have a constitutional right to back a candidate for Prez.

Ummm, This is Rand Paul running for KY senate, not ron paul. Did you not see the poll results posted above with him in a good lead in the primaries?

Not sure if serious.

Maybe good point Spidey07, its always easier to sell an agenda in a State rather than nationwide.

But come 11/2010 that KY Senate seat will be a prize plum, the democratic best case scenario is that the Rand Paul Vote will split the GOP vote.

The KY primary and general election results will bear watching, and as Ron Paul maybe gets to be too old to be a contender, the Libertarian hopes may pass to Rand Paul.

Umm, I live in this state. Drive between louisville and lexington every single day. There will be no split vote on this one. It does bear watching but as I owned many before on Kennedy's seat, you ain't seen nothing yet.

I'm talking people that never cared about politics and didn't really vote. The People are pissed off. I have never seen anything like it. Folks are saying "what can I do? How can I stop this? This is madness". I just guide them to talk to their friends, contribute, donate, spread the message. I capture about 3-5 votes A DAY in Rand's direction because they just don't know what they can do to stop this.

Vote. Donate. Get involved. Talk to your friends and family. I helped Scott Brown get elected, I'm going to help Rand Paul. And I'm going to target every vulnerable rep. We The People are taking our country back.

That's exactly it.

Shoot, what do you drive? I drive between Louisville and Lexington 5 days a week myself.

I do those same things, but not for Rand Paul. Sorry, but I also have a strong work ethic and I don't have high hopes for him as Ky's representative. I've got some good progressives up for Ky House if you are interested, as well as for the local school board.

Getting ready to change jobs in a few weeks, can't wait to put this drive behind me.

You forgot accurate.

P.S. I'm in Louisville too. Why don't you meet up with me and spidey for drinks one night so we can convert you. 😉

Well sure we can add accurate in too, since the statement was ironic and was a list of things your post was not. constructive, imaginative and accurate.

Thanks for pointing that out!

P.S. - Drinks with spidey? Oh, that sounds positively uncomfortable.
