rambus ? ? ?

Hi
I have P4 computer with 256 Rambus memory, an as you know that sucks, so I want to buy more of the ram memory. But it´s like a jungle out there. I saw that they have Rambus with ECC and without,

but what is ECC?

And the other problem is that everyone keep saying that I must install the Rambus memory in pairs, whats up with that?

Does the memory come in pairs or do I have to buy to identical ram modules?

Thanks!

ECC checks the data for random errors, you don't need to spend the extra money on it for a home system. RDRAM must be installed in identical pairs of the same exact size. You would have to buy two separate 128MB or 256MB modules.
