Rambus PC800 Question

Hey everyone I have a friend here with a Dell machine that has 512 MB of PC800 RDRAM in it and we need to upgrade it. No option to get a new motherboard or anything and I understand it will be expensive.

My question is if I go onto newegg and buy two sticks of 256 MB for a total of 512 MB, do I need to know anything about compatibility with the existing RAM in the computer or will any do? Any preferred company for RDRAM?

Thanks for the help.

Just make sure it's PC800 and that you aren't mixing error correcting (ECC) with regular. Brand doesn't matter much as long as there is a warranty.

FS/FT forum here and eBay are both cheaper than buying new. Or if you can wait until Saturday for shipment I can offer you a good deal on 2x128 from mom's old P4 that I upgraded at Xmas.
